Connect your domain in one click
The scariest step when setting up your email (the DNS records) can now be a single click. Here is how it works and which providers support it.
If you have ever set up email on your own domain, you know the step that makes everyone hesitate: the DNS records. That moment when you have to open your domain's control panel and copy a list of odd-looking values (MX, SPF, DKIM) without getting a single letter wrong. It works, but it is intimidating. So we turned it into a single click.
What "connecting the domain" means
For your domain to send and receive email, you have to add a few DNS records to it. They are instructions that live in your domain's control panel and tell the world how to treat your mail: which server receives it, who is allowed to send on your behalf, and how to stop someone from impersonating you. They are the foundation of your mail arriving and not landing in spam.
Normally you copy them by hand, one by one, into your domain provider's panel. It is not hard, but it is fiddly: one extra space or one mispasted value and something quietly stops working.
The click that skips the tedious part
There is an open standard, Domain Connect, built for exactly this. Instead of copying records one by one, nanimail asks your domain provider for permission to add them for you. The whole flow is:
- You type your domain into nanimail.
- We send you to your provider, where you see exactly what will be added and you authorize it.
- You come back to nanimail and we confirm everything landed correctly.
No copy and paste, no hunting for where the DNS panel is, no fear of getting a character wrong. The same records as always, placed for you in seconds.
Which providers it works with today
Let us be honest: the click depends on your domain provider supporting Domain Connect, and not all of them do. Today it works with Cloudflare, which also happens to be the registrar we recommend for how transparent it is with pricing. We are adding more.
If your domain is with a provider that does not support it yet, you are not left out: the manual path is still there, and we show you the exact values and check that they are set up right, like always. One-click connection is a shortcut when it is available, not the only way.
What gets set up, no mystery
Whether by one click or by hand, the same records get added:
- Domain verification. Confirms the domain is yours.
- MX. Tells the world's mail that nanimail receives yours.
- SPF and DKIM. Authorize and sign what you send, so it reaches the inbox and not spam.
- DMARC. Protects your domain against anyone trying to impersonate you.
- Return-path. Routes delivery notices back to where they belong.
It is exactly what you would do by hand. The only difference is who moves the mouse.

The technical step of setting up your email is no longer the scary one. With a supported provider, connecting your domain is authorizing once and you are done; and if yours is not supported yet, the guided manual path is still available. Either way the goal is the same: getting your email, at your own name, working fast and without frights.
